Pearson is constantly looking to add to our AMAZING team! Presently, our Integration & Rostering Services team is in search of a highly detailed driven, self-motivated, analytical problem solver to take on the Solution Engineer role. In this role, you will work with our education customers in a fast-paced, multi-project environment, implementing interoperability between the customer’s existing infrastructures, technologies and Student Information Systems, and Pearson’s Learning Platforms.

The ideal candidate will have ability to analyze and identify Robotic Process Automation opportunities within business operations.

You will bring experience in business process re-engineering and the proven ability to interpret and visualize business process flows, user stories, and related requirements, translating them into automation solutions. Knowledge and skills in RPA tools and processes will be an asset to the future of the Solution Engineer role.

Essential Qualities of Pearson’s Solution Engineer:

  • Self-motivation with proven track record in implementing multiple projects, in various stages, at one time.

  • Ability to provide software support and knowledge of technology.

  • Adept in navigating K-12 School administration and technology departments.

  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.

  • Possess strong project management and presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively in written responses to emails and submitting reports.

  • Well organized and highly skilled in analytical problem solving with proven ability to eliminate. implementation obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.

  • Familiarity with server and client operating systems, wired and wireless network infrastructures, general cloud computing concepts, and SaaS product delivery.

  • Understanding of Single Sign On/Authentication technologies, including but not limited to SAML, LDAP or ADFS with the ability to explain in technical and layman terms to customers.

  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Salesforce and Google apps and ability to utilize and manage Google docs. Smartsheet and Lucidchart experience is a plus!

  • Special consideration will be given to the candidate who is innovative and forward thinking in regards to Robotic Process Automation.

Position located at Elk Grove, IL, Chandler, AZ, or Hoboken, NJ. Additional remote locations may be considered.

Here is what you will get to do:

  • Provide solutions/services that support the business’s automated data uploading and student rostering solutions

  • Work with customers to design/execute implementation plans with key milestones identified for deploying new solutions across the district

  • Support the district through change management and communications during the implementation

  • work with customers to extract and transform data to meet solution requirements per plan

  • Perform implementations of Pearson’s SSO and Auto Rostering integration solutions and support the School Solution’s implementation programs and processes

  • Work with customers to determine integration and SSO approaches and solutions that meet the customer’s requirements and technology infrastructures

  • Develop documentation library maintaining all scripts/applications created for data extraction solutions

  • Communicate best practices and usability requirements for Pearson’s APIs

  • Track/maintain a working knowledge of integration protocols

  • Liaison with Sales, Services and Product teams for SSO solutions

  • Provide project tracking and status reporting at all levels of the organizations


Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • BA degree or equivalent work experience; Master’s preferred

  • 3-5 years of project management experience in a commercial software development environment

  • 5 years successful experience in education industry, preferable in K-12

  • Ability to think strategically

  • Demonstrate solid organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

Additional Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • PMP Certification desired

  • Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation
