Associate Application Engineer

Application Solutions Engineering team is responsible for the implementation of AppEng strategies designed by solution architects and deliver large projects including automation, CI\CD pipeline, new platforms and tools developments. Application Solutions Engineering team works closely with project teams, Application Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that Pearson applications meet business objectives and services quality/performance targets. The team operates based on agile practices and follow a combination of Scrum and Kanban agile frameworks. Team possess knowledge and skills on software development, scripting, cloud computing, automation tools, infrastructure, CI/CD pipeline, DevOps Etc.

3 year college degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, Bachelor of Science preferred and 1 years of professional work experience
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Knowledge on Software Engineering and IT Operations
Knowledge on programming/scripting languages and technologies such as Go, Python, Bash, Shell, Angular.
Experience in using version control systems such as GitHub
Understanding on Agile Software Development
Understanding and DevOps practices, CI/CD and related technologies such as Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible
Knowledge on Cloud technologies (Mainly AWS)
Experience on relational and NoSQL Databases
Knowledge on Middleware(Tomcat, Weblogic, Apache etc) and Message Queues
Problem solving skills, willingness to learn new technologies
