Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors Systems performance and troubleshoots problem areas as needed.

  • Practices Monitoring System asset management, including maintenance of System component inventory and related documentation.

  • Participates in design documentation of Monitoring related solutions.

  • Plan, engineer and implement robust and cost-effective computing environments, exploiting emerging technologies to provide compelling solutions.

  • Participate in process development with partners and Service Providers.

  • Participates in the transition process to operational teams.

  • Act as a project leader for some projects providing task direction to achieve project goals.

  • Participates in refining existing functional requirements for monitoring and event management tools and participating in the development of an integrated monitoring/event management tooling strategy and architecture.

  • To be responsible for the delivery of assigned projects on the Monitoring Roadmap.

  • To maintain and improve the standards within the Monitoring group and to evangelize good practice.

  • Collaborates with capacity management and system architects to assess near- and long-term capacity needs. Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to Monitoring configuration, mapping, processes and service records.

  • To assist with improving the standard of technical delivery and competencies within the technical teams.

  • Conducts research on Monitoring products, services, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the various Monitoring industry.

  • Oversees new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.

  • Global Maintenance of device configuration as per certified standards and Engineering recommendations

  • Create tooling and automation, allowing operations to execute changes in mass-scale device quantity

  • Conduct network audits and risk assessment as required and build remediation scripts as necessary

  • Review posted documentation to ensure network is in adherence to and compliant of any mandates

  • Create, debug, and maintain scripts and processes to optimize workflow

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent work experience in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or other related field.

  • At least 2 years experience of exposure to both in-house or outsourced systems, multiple hardware platforms, and integrated information management systems.

  • 2 years experience in enterprise data networking, both in a build and support environment

  • ITIL Foundation or higher is preferred

Technical Competency:

  • Experience participating in large, global, multi-tool, multi-platform enterprise monitoring implementation/integration projects.

  • Experience of supporting\administration of Enterprise Network Management Systems

  • ITIL knowledge or prior experience in an ITIL managed environment

  • Experience in scripting using a variety of tools and languages

  • Experience in database tools and working with large datasets

  • Experience in monitoring, identifying, analyzing issues and escalating to required levels and attention.

  • Knowledge and understanding of information processing principles and practices.

  • Exposure to working UNIX, Windows and Linux environments.

  • Basic technical knowledge of supporting Hardware including Cisco/F5/CheckPoint environments.

  • Should have very good verbal & written communication skills

  • Should be willing to work on extended and irregular hours when required

  • Ability to present to internal audiences and demonstrate excellent communication skill

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment

  • Should be comfortable in working under pressure when required
