What you’ll do

You will be working with a team of developers and other DevOps engineers in order to provide great quality software through the development pipeline and up to production. You will be creating monitoring tools to expand the visibility of issues on Production and you will be encouraged to resolve challenges that you come across in everyday tasks.

What you will be working on

You will be working on new Pulse 2.0 platform that is a strategic project meant to support Pearson business goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Everyday help in identifying problems with the infrastructure.

  2. Training the teams in using developer tools and processes.

  3. Automation of the teams’ repeatable tasks.

  4. Designing tools for managing developers’ operational needs.

  5. Automation and facilitation of implementation processes.

  6. Support in recruiting and onboarding new employees.

  7. Compliance with the Company’s internal procedures.

  8. Personal and professional development.

  9. Mentoring of other team members



Desirable skills and knowledge(on a scale from 1 to 5)

  • Knowledge of the RedHat Linux operating system (4)

  • Practical knowledge of Chef/Puppet/Ansible/Salt (3)

  • Continuous Integration (4)

  • Continuous Delivery (3)

  • Experience in bash / ruby​​/ python (at least 1) (3)

  • Experience in cloud computing (AWS) (3)

  • Very good command of English in writing and speaking (3)

  • Experience in 24/7 system maintenance (3)
